Orca

The 'Orca'

Photobucket

The Orca vehicle originates with the Command and Conquer computer game, and is recognizable by its two huge tilt engines that make wings no necessity. It's a relatively small, single seat attack craft, and in the computer game is armed with a gun turret and rocket pods.

This Orca here however is something else.2 main versions feature in this download:
- the Major Major version in White and red, equiped with movable searchlights (turret and 'flaps' button)
- the Russian attack craft, armed with twin miniguns.

Also included are a 'bare' Major version, without searchlights, and a blue Soviet version. The latter could be seen as a covert attack craft, posing as a marine expeditionary vehicle. Press 'f' for flaps and the miniguns pop out just like with its grey brother.

I didn't feel like doing a desert paint. I tried but it just doesn't really fit with this mesh. The hull is quite smooth (and fairly low-poly too), and I think the desert scheme looks better with a more rugged exterior.

The Major versions are unarmed though, and can be seen are purely recreational craft, designed to buzz around city scapes and island vistas with. The head of the pilot moves of course, like I try to do now with all my releases. It's easy to do and gives the plane a nicer look in the game.

The plane consists mostly of parts I didn't design myself by the way. I just put them together and chucked some paint over it.
- The original mesh is in x-format from Isau Tokuyasu (http://the-mml.hp.infoseek.co.jp/y/fltsym-e-mseq.html) from an FMS plane download.
- The miniguns are from Wic-Works' CH-53 Pavelow, made by Welnio, SKyline, Wizard, Nemesis, Drzking, and MH3W.- The pilot is from Masa-AT's Fokker DXXI.
- The afterburner is from Makoto's Windrider.- The gears are scaled down from TF-58's C152.

I only had to make the tail engine and search lights actually, and make a nice DAT and collision file of course.

I've made some screenshots which turned out quite well I think. The island screenshots are from a map called 'the island' I had lying around in a corner somewhere, and is supposed to resemble the island from 'Lost'.It's a nice little map to fly around in and I might release it later on after

I've put in some more huts and landing spots.I will need someone to make it 'landable' everywhere though, since that's a little trick I've given up on, and the entire island is an elevated grid.

Anyway, that's all for later releases. For now, just enjoy the Orcas!
